Exhibitions as a large-scale theoretical productions of architecture are fundamentally made by a few for a few others, with little broad impact, presence or interest. Instead, more and more they attempt to communicate to a very specialized audience. But, maybe the era of exhibition is actually over? Maybe it no longer carries the urgency it once did as a means of architectural communication?

With any exhibition – or architecture of display – there is a kind of social promise that content and communication will be delivered. Once you embrace the surreal condition of a normal exhibition, the digital presence of architecture which increasingly produces thousands of data on images aiming at performing as a new form of exhibition look tame and unprovocative. This is exactly what RECOM pavilion aims at: To reverse the trend of a fading typology and reinvent the necessity of offering a temporary yet significant means of architectural communication!
